A thousand-year village in the heart of the Tarentaise

A thousand-year village

The village of Champagny en Vanoise, almost a thousand years old, lies at the heart of the Tarentaise valley — a sunny balcony looking out over the mountains, linked to the La Plagne ski area since 1971.

Stone bases, walls and balconies of larch wood, drying sheds turned to the sun: Champagny has kept the face of a true mountain village. Its baroque church, its fountains and its narrow lanes tell nine centuries of farming life — the high pastures here still feed the herds that give the Beaufort cheese its taste.

The village centre, with its shops and restaurants, is only 5 minutes from the hotel; in winter, a free shuttle links the station to the valley of Champagny le Haut.
